Everyday Summer Sweat Proof Makeup Tutorial

Hello my lovely little tunafish! For today’s video I have filmed a summer, sweat proof makeup tutorial. I am going to show you guys how to create super sweat proof, long lasting makeup. It’s getting a lot hotter here and I’ve had to change my makeup routine to keep my makeup from melting off my face. I think this makeup is really fresh, really glowy, and definitely summer approved. So let’s get started!

I’ve already done my eyebrows off camera so we can get right into the makeup tutorial. So first thing’s first.

The first thing you want to do when yoiu are going to go out in the summer heat is definitely prime your face for your makeup. I’m using IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Primer to prime my face. This primer is more mattifying than most, but not to the point where it dries out your skin. And that’s why I love it.

Next I’m going to apply foundation. I’m using Dior Airflash foundation. It’s one of those spray, airbrush foundations. I’ve never used one of these before I used this foundation and I’m going to try it out now on camera for you. If you guys use this foundation let me know what you think about it in the comments below. I want to know! You can either spray this on your face directly, or spray it onto a blender. I’m using a beauty blender to apply this foundation and I found I had mixed emotions about it at first.

For concealer I’ll be using my Tarte Shape Tape. This is my favorite concealer and I’m almost out of it so I need to remind myself to pick up some more when I’m out and about in New York. I applied it under my eyes and I’m using a beauty blender to blend it out and make it smooth to cover up my under eye circles and any imperfections I may have.

Now I am going to set my makeup. Do not go out with just creams on your face during the summer or you will end up really oily, and your makeup is going to melt. I use Laura Mercier. Use your beauty blender to blend out any creases you may have from your foundation and concealer before applying setting powder. I also use the beauty blender to apply my setting powder. I found I get more even coverage as well as staying power because you are pressing it onto your skin rather then just dusting over your skin so it falls off. This is definitely a good thing to do during the summer since you want your makeup to stay put as long as possible.

After I have applied the setting powder to my t-zone, under my eyes and on my nose, forehead and chin, I go in with a face powder and a big brush. This is the Maybelline Super Stay Skin Transforming Powder. I like to use this over my foundation, concealer and setting powder because it’s going to give me the extra coverage and staying power I need to get me through those long summer days.

On to bronzer. I am using the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer and a contour brush to give my face a nice summer glow. Contour out your cheekbones and give your face some nice summer color. I think this is one of my favorite bronzers everywhere and you can get it at the drugstore even.

As for highlighter, I’m using the Anastasia Beverly Hills So Hollywood Highlighter. It’s my favorite gold highlighter of all time. It’s so stunning. I love wearing a gold highlight in the summer, because when the sun hits you it just looks so, so pretty. Be sure to blend your highlighter out with either a brush or a beauty blender so it doesn’t look too harsh.

For my blush today I am using the Milani Luminoso blush. But before I go any further I like to set my face with setting spray. Especially in the summer I will do my eyes last. So I’m going to use Prep and Set makeup setting spray and just set my face. Once it is totally dry, I actually go in with another layer of setting spray and do it again, just to make sure my makeup doesn’t budge when I go outside in the heat.

In the summer I don’t use very much eyemakeup. It’s very minimal. So I will take my Physicians Formula Butter bronzer and apply it to the crease of my eye and that’s usually about it. Use a fluffy eye shadow brush and just swipe it across the crease a few times and you are done with eye shadow.

I do like to use a little highlight on my eyes. So I am going to use Nikki Tutorials Everglow Highlighter on the inner corners of my eyes to make me look like a sun goddess.

Now I am going to go ahead and apply my lashes. Depending on how you are feeling you can go ahead and skip lashes and just apply your mascara or apply them. I’m going to wear them because I love how lashes make my eyes pop even when I am not wearing a dramatic eye makeup look. I’m using my Lilly Lashes in Miami because they are a lot lighter than most lashes I normally wear. Then I will apply some liner across the top lid of my eye just to hide the lash band.

The last step for my eyes is Mascara and I’m going to be using my Lights Camera Lashes Mascara from Tarte. It’s my all time favorite and I use it just about every day. It seriously makes your real lashes blend with your false lashes seamlessly and that’s why I love it so much.

For my lips today I am going to be using Make Up For Ever Artist Matte Liquid Lipstick in shade 103. The color is perfect for summer and it will go nicely with the bronze beauty goddess shades we have going on.

So that is it for today’s video! I hope you enjoyed it and I hoped you learned a little bit about how to keep your make up from melting in the summer sun and how to get it to last all day. If you tried this makeup tutorial or have used any of the products in this tutorial let me know what you think in the comments below! Until we meet again! Bye beautiful!
